Mel Skelton

Tēnā koutou, I'm Mel and I would like to thank our school community for the opportunity to be a part of the Tisbury School Board of Trustees.  I live in Tisbury with my partner and young child who attends Tisbury School.  For the last six years I have been employed wthin the education sector with students from years 9-11 who are at risk of low education, social or vocational outcomes as the Administrator, Food in Schools Manager and as Student Support.  I feel  honoured to be elected by our school community to be able to continue to enhance our children's eduction and school community.  Outside of my work, I am kept busy with our family's  lifestyle block in Tisbury where I breed and show poultry through Tisbury Orpingtons, children's sports and I also enjoy playing in team sports from the court, to the field and being pit crew at speedway.

Ella Lawton

Kia ora koutou, I am Ella Lawton.

My daughter started at Tisbury in Ms Miller's class in July 2025, and its been a joy to see her settle into such a warm and supportive school community.

I am on the Board because I care deeply about our tamariki and the future of our school.  I bring prior experience in governance through my work with local councils and community organisations, and I am passionate about using those skills to support our school's direction.

I believe good school boards focus on strong governance - asking the right questions, setting a clear direction, and backing the principal and team to do what they do best.  I am a big believer in listening well, learning fast and working collaboratively to make sure every child has the chance to thrive.

Tisbury already has so much to be proud of, and I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to its continued success.

Russell Jack
 

​I am an agricultural contractor, dairy farmer, husband and Dad!  I was raised in Tisbury and have lived in a variety of places since but I have managed to find my way back home.  Tisbury School is special to me, my dad, siblings and I attended and my Mum also taught here.  I currently have 3 boys attending Tisbury and my daughter is a past student.

I valve the sense of community we have here at Tisbury and look forward to giving back by being a member of the Board of Trustees.

Adam Lilley 
 

I am a father to three wonderful children.  One has attended Tisbury School for the past two years and another will be joining the Tisbury School family at the beginning of 2026.  My partner and I are very grateful to be part of Tisbury School and its wider community.  I stood for the Board of Trustees to give back to the school and to be involved in decision-making that supports the students of Tisbury School.

I look forward to using my skills to support the school into the future.

Steve Henderson

I am Steve Henderson and along with my wife Tracy and 3 children Ruby, Gus and Annie we farm at Awarua.  I enjoy the community and the every-changing world of farming.  When not involved in the community or farm I enjoy getting away fishing and exploring the country we live in.
